Not having an edit button is a good and bad thing.

GOOD:When people post things, they cant go back and try edit there post to keep from being "owned" and what not.

BAD: Yea i know im not the best spelled in the world , but when miss spelled "the" about 4 times i would like to back and fix them.

Lets say i used a word thats in violation, but i did it my accident, theres nothing you can do about it expect for go and delete it and start all over again, and by this time you have already been reported by somebody

There will never be an post editing feature as the possibility of abuse would be too great due to the population of the boards and CJayC does not feel that it would be more beneficial than harmful.

It would be abused far too much.

Trolls could do anything they wanted. Getting marked would mean absolutely nothing because it can be deleted. Users would be tricked into getting in trouble, for example,

Just copy and paste it and edit out the TOS violation. Doesnt take long. Its a simpler way than using an edit function.

Yert you make it sound so simple.

According to that logic then the boards would have to store both sets of messages. Otherwise theres no way to tell what was changed.

We'd get the same problems we do with the deleting posts.

We already have a Edit butoon. It's called preview message. If you are using that Gamefox, it's your own fault

That's a damn good suggestion. That solves it, actually. If they can trust us with certain other privileges, than certainly they trust long-time users, (maybe also with a good mod history?) not to abuse it. 400+ karma? 300+? 500+?
