Only way it *could* be unbanned is if it claimed to be underage and only then with proof of age provided and a wait of about 8 months to forever.

I literally spent hours here a day. And now I am gone. This isnt fair! I did not want to leave like this!

You're still here, aren't you? So you got burned, but it was a lesson well learned. Other people learn not to use universal passwords when somebody swipes their PayPal or eBay account.

Given the nature of the suicide the account thief posted with your stolen account, the ones that were banned will not be restored. But you haven't lost everything, and there will be no further consequences. Just be more careful in the future. Very specifically, if you still have other accounts or anything else on the net using the same password that was apparently compromised, change them ASAP.

Because you went to another forum and signed up with the same username and password that you used here. The admin or someone with access to the database on that site then logged in here and got the account banned. Since several of your accounts were on the usermap they were killed as well. So, the lesson here is don't use universal passwords on multiple sites, especially when its a GameFAQs spin-off...

They won't. Your account security is your own problem. GameFAQs will only help you if you lost your account through GameFAQs' fault rather than yours - i.e. if the GameFAQs servers were hacked or something.

Users who lose their accounts through their own carelessness with passwords do not receive assistance. It's considered part of the learning process.

No. The account violated the ToS and action was taken. That it wasn't you making the posts is irrelevant as you are responsible for the actions of your accounts.

Technically not impossible, but there'd be no end to the request for unbannings because of a "hacker". A lot of people who posted naughty things would suddenly have sob stories about being hacked. Hours would be lost confirming stories and deciding who would need to be unbanned and who was lying out of an orifice of your choice.

GameFAQs therefore has the policy never to act on these. The vast majority of account thefts were the user's own fault.

Actually, you were banned for imping. You know this.

You know you created an imp account. You created the account "Dan_Fookes" to imp "DanFookes", a long time user of the same boards you frequent. Again, you know this.

Only you know why you did it. I suppose you thought you wouldn't get caught, or that it would never be traced back to you. Given how long you've been on the boards, you certainly knew what would happen if you were caught, so it's odd that you took that chance.

Of course, the imp account was created and logged into on the same computer you posted this message with. There was no "hacker". You, of course, already know this.
